Return to Sender is a group exhibition of joint productions of students from Istanbul Okan University Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture Department of Visual Communication Design students with Germany LFS.
The project aimed to enable students to establish a dialogue through art. A package, consisting of the works of students from Germany, was received by Istanbul Okan University and sent back to LFS via shipping. In this process, the students communicated only through their artworks without ever seeing each other.
The project offered an analog production practice and sharing space to university students by producing an alternative to the digital communication intensity during the pandemic.
The project was conducted by Eda Çekil Konrat, assistant professor at the Department of Visual Communication Design Department at Okan University, German artist Beate Krempe, and art educator Gregor Strunk with students from the Liebfrauenschule vocational college in Geldern. The project is supported by the Turkey-Germany Youth Bridge and brought to life in cooperation with Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Kunst und Medien NRW e.V. from Germany and Kırkayak Kültür from Turkey.
